The 2019 Original Krewe Of Orpheus Mardi Gras Parade stepped-off March 1, 2019, rolling along the traditional Mandeville route. And what an awesome parade it was too! The weather really cooperated and the crowds were large and yelling loud for throws.
King Orpheus XXIX, Jim McIntyre and his Queen, Cathy Schultz, greeted the crowds at the return of the popular event, OrpheusFest, which started at noon. The band AfterSundown rocked the 2019 OrpheusFest for all who attended.
Later in the afternoon, Donald Villere, Mandeville Mayor and former King XXVII of the Original Krewe Of Orpheus, read a proclamation declaring March 1, 2019 “King Jim McIntyre and Queen Cathy Schultz Day”, awarding the “Keys To The City” to King Jim and Queen Cathy.
Co-Marshalls, Bobby Hebert and Kristian Garic got the crowd at OrpheusFest all fired-up with a rousing “WHO DAT” cheer.
Overall, a good time was had by all who rode in this years parade.
Until next year…
